Beautiful Garden Tour at Wilma's!

July's meeting had us at Wilma's beautiful home and garden; she and Jim have put in beautiful gardens and landscaping all around their home.

A lovely herb garden sits just outside the kitchen.

Wilma says they love falling asleep to the trickling water feature outside their bedroom window.

A fun bicycle they painted this year to replicate the many colors they enjoy while in Florida.

A beautiful obelisk towers above the perennials.

Lovely brick path that beckons you to keep going.
Tranquil pond complete with waterfall for a lovely water sound you can hear in the house.

Every garden could use some rusty accents, right?
Beautiful terraced gardens flank the lower level walkout entrance.

No garden is complete without a lovely sitting area to enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Garden statue keeps watch over the daylily garden.

We also honored Ruth Fields that evening who was named Gardener of the Year for Region 9 of OAGC;  what an honor and we are so proud of her and to have her as a member of our club!   President Kathleen Mink presented her with flowers and we enjoyed seeing pictures of her in the club throughout the years.

Mt Oval Tour

The Pickaway County Council of Garden Clubs had their Spring meeting at the historic Mt. Oval home just south of Circleville, Ohio on US 23.   Such a great opportunity to tour this lovely home and grounds.

A beautiful rose and perennial garden lays beside the old smoke house.

Several members from Ross County also joined us for the tour.

Beautiful living room used for entertaining guests.
Such tall ceilings and beautiful transoms above all the doors.
Our club was well represented by these lovely ladies all in blue!  (And believe it or not, we did not plan this;  great minds just think alike!!)
And this was after the photographer said "now this time, boobs up!"   Had a great laugh after that!!

Succulent Workshop Fun

Our June meeting was a fun workshop putting together beautiful succulent arrangements;
(workshops are always fun!)
It's even more fun when you use unusual vessels for the containers!
How about an old metal lunchbox?  or colander?

Here's one using an old funnel for a 2nd tier; and an old metal drawer!  The possibilities are endless. Just be sure to have adequate drainage because succulents don't like wet feet!   Just give them a good soaking about once a week, then let dry out for several days.

We love making messes; it means you are doing it right; right Beth??  :)

Everyone is all smiles when it comes to succulents; they are super easy to grow and maintain; who wouldn't smile about that?!

It was also great that we had lots of guests that ended up becoming members!   That is a win-win!
Ruth, lovely as always, putting lots of attention to her arrangement.    It was such a fun evening and everyone went home with a beautiful arrangement.
